Per NBC, Yellowstone season 5, part 2’s streaming release date has been revealed. After airing the episodes on Paramount Network, the latter half of season 5 will come to Peacock starting on March 16. These episodes will join the first five and a half seasons, which are already available to stream on Peacock.

Peacock Owns Yellowstone’s Streaming Rights (Despite It Being A Paramount Show)
Yellowstone is not an NBC show, which makes their Peacock exclusivity unique. The series is actually a Paramount Network original. However, Peacock bought the rights to stream Yellowstone before Paramount+ even launched, and has maintained the rights to this popular show ever since. As such, viewers who did not catch Yellowstone season 5, part 2 when it was airing weekly on the Paramount Network have been waiting months to watch the final episode and will have to wait another month.
There are plenty of reasons to get excited about Yellowstone, even though the flagship of Taylor Sheridan’s neo-Western saga wrapped up season 5.

The Yellowstone Universe Is Continuing
As the Yellowstone universe forges onward, it will be interesting to see how long Peacock can hold onto these streaming rights. There have been early reports of a potential hangup regarding the spinoff, including Beth and Rip. Because of the overlap of main characters and the fact that the series was reported to include Yellowstone in the title, some have argued that Paramount will have a tough time proving that the show is legally distinct from its flagship series. As such, Peacock could stake their claim over the Yellowstone universe for a while longer.
