‘I just need a rest’: Adele confirms through tears she’s going on a break after Las Vegas residency

Adele has revealed that after wrapping up her Las Vegas residency in November 2025, she will be taking an extended break from the music scene. The Grammy-winning artist shared this news during a recent concert in Munich, where she told the audience, “I’ve spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it,” visibly emotional. She further explained that she might not perform for a long time after concluding her current commitments.

This announcement marks a significant moment in Adele’s career, as she reflects on both her personal and professional evolution. Over the past few years, Adele has undergone major life changes, including her 2019 separation from Simon Konecki, with whom she shares a child. Since 2021, she has been in a relationship with sports agent Rich Paul, though she has remained private about the nature of their relationship despite rumors of an engagement.

Her current Las Vegas residency, Weekends with Adele, which began in January 2022, will wrap up in November 2025 after a final set of shows, following her Munich performance, which concluded her 10-show residency in the German capital. Throughout her recent performances, Adele has been showcasing songs from her 2021 album 30. During her time in Munich, she expressed her gratitude for her fans, thanking everyone who attended her shows over the past three years, admitting she now feels the need to rest after her extensive touring.

The announcement of her hiatus is not surprising, given Adele’s history of taking extended breaks between her album releases. Her 2021 album 30 was her first in six years, following the success of 25 in 2015. Adele has consistently withdrawn from the public eye in between major projects. In 2011, she took a break after undergoing throat surgery, and she also stepped back from performing after the birth of her son in 2012.

In a July 2025 interview with German broadcaster ZDF, Adele hinted that she would soon scale back her touring commitments to explore other creative projects. Now, with her residency nearing its end, it’s clear that she plans to take time away from the stage to focus on herself and her personal life. The singer’s decision to step away is a testament to her desire for balance after years of intense public attention and the pressures of the music industry.

Though it may be some time before fans see Adele again in concert, it’s clear that she’s prioritizing her well-being and personal happiness. Whether this break will lead to new music or a different creative direction in the future remains to be seen, but for now, the artist is focused on living the life she has worked so hard to build.
