Boden Is Back! Eamonn Walker Warns of Devastating Loss in Chicago Fire’s Explosive Episode 18

Chicago Fire fans, brace yourselves because Eamonn Walker is stepping back into the boots of Wallace Boden for Season 13. Walker will be bolstering the coming Episode 18, an episode gearing up to set your screens ablaze. After leaving the show as a series regular in the Season 12 finale, Walker’s return has sparked a wildfire of excitement among the Chicago Fire faithful.

Scheduled for April 16, 2025, this special episode, titled “Post-Mortem,” is already shaping up to be a heart-pounding standout, with the actor himself teasing its “intense” nature. The episode will be about Boden’s big comeback, poised to be a game-changer for Firehouse 51.

Chicago Fire Season 13 has welcomed an old companion

Firehouse 51 is buzzing again because Eamonn Walker is back as Wallace Boden, and it feels like the gang’s getting back together. After leaving us hanging at the end of Season 12, this familiar face is stepping back into the fray. If anyone has been the series’ companion since the beginning, they know how important Boden is to the storyline.

His departure from the NBC show was a heartbreak we all testified as fans. Wallace Boden is the kind of guy you would want in your corner when the world’s falling apart. He is this tall, broad-shouldered dude with a deep voice that can calm you down or make you snap to attention.

Since the show kicked off in 2012, he has been the Battalion Chief, steering the ship through all the chaos that comes with fighting fires in Chicago. But he is not just some boss barking orders. Boden has heart, grit, and quiet strength, making him the glue holding this messy, brave crew together.

Upon revealing his return to Chicago Fire during an interview with Deadline, he chimed in about the upcoming Episode 18, which will be moving but not in such a good way. Walker said:

It’s a really intense episode. I will give you this much: somebody got left behind in a fire, and that somebody was a firefighter. That is a no-no and should never, ever happen. And because they were left behind, possibly by the end of this episode, we may lose them. It’s one of your favorites.

Walker’s entry at Firehouse 51 is something to look forward to. He has also teased that the coming episode will be sorrowful, as one of the fan-favorite firefighters might not make it further in the series.

What can you expect from Chicago Fire‘s episode, Post Mortem?

The episode’s premise alone is enough to set pulses racing. Episode 18, titled “Post-Mortem,” delves into a disastrous call that shakes things up at Firehouse 51, with Boden stepping in to uncover the truth. The storytelling will unfold through multiple perspectives and flashbacks, offering a fresh lens on the chaos.

Walker’s Boden, now Deputy Commissioner, brings an outsider’s authority to the investigation, which will stir friction with Pascal(Dermot Mulroney) and the crew he once led. The “intense” label Walker attached suggests high stakes, raw emotion, and possibly hard-hitting decisions that could ripple through the season.

Will Boden’s return mend old wounds or open new ones? Chicago Fire is known for its heart-pounding drama, and “Post-Mortem” is shaping to be a defining chapter, amplified by Walker’s gravitas.
