Adele Postpones Las Vegas Residency, Will Go on Vocal Rest: ‘I’ll Miss You Like Mad’

Adele has decided to take a break from her Las Vegas residency and go on vocal rest due to health concerns. In a social media post, the 35-year-old singer shared that she has been struggling with her voice after being sick during the last leg of her residency and through her break. Unfortunately, she didn’t fully recover before returning to perform, and pushing herself too soon resulted in her getting sick again, ultimately taking a toll on her voice.

Following her doctor’s advice, Adele will be taking some time off to rest her vocal cords until she’s cleared to perform again. This has led to the postponement of several dates in her residency, affecting five upcoming weekends. The affected dates include March 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, and 30. Fans are promised updates as soon as more information is available.

In a recent performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Adele addressed the audience, explaining that she was struggling with her voice. She admitted to being exhausted and joked about sounding like “Ursula from the ocean” due to the strain on her chest and voice. Despite the discomfort, she powered through the show, taking sips of honey and hot water to soothe her throat. Before leaving the stage, she apologized to the audience, admitting that the upcoming voice rest would be challenging for her, as she would have to refrain from speaking for several days.

Adele’s vocal issues are not a new concern. In 2011, she underwent surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal cord, and in 2017, she had to cancel her Wembley Stadium concerts after damaging her vocal cords. At that time, she shared an emotional message with her fans, explaining that despite having an incredible run at Wembley, she had pushed her voice too hard and had to seek medical help. She expressed her heartbreak over canceling the shows but followed medical advice, resting her voice to prevent further damage.

Now, as she navigates another vocal setback, Adele is focused on her recovery and will take the necessary time to heal, ensuring she can continue her residency once her voice is fully restored. Fans have been understanding, sending their support as Adele takes the necessary steps to prioritize her health.
