Adele has reportedly turned down a massive $200 million offer in favor of prioritizing her family. The 36-year-old singer recently informed her fans during her Munich shows that they wouldn’t see her for a long time, explaining, “I just need a rest.” She revealed that after spending seven years rebuilding her life, she now wants to enjoy it.
According to sources, Adele declined a lucrative opportunity to take on a long-term residency at a casino in Macau, China, which would’ve paid her $200 million. Despite the offer being incredibly generous, Adele chose not to accept it, as she wanted to focus on her family instead. A source told the Daily Mail, “There have been numerous offers, but she has turned them all down because she wants to be home with her son. The Chinese deal involved millions, but in the end, she chose not to go through with it. She’s putting her child, her boyfriend, and her own well-being above everything else.”
Adele has been performing her Weekends With Adele residency at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, since November 2022. This residency will conclude on November 23 of this year, giving her the opportunity to spend more time with her partner, Rich Paul, and her 11-year-old son, Angelo.
In a statement earlier this year, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer expressed her intention to take a break from her music career. “I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” Adele admitted, adding that she wanted a significant break and hoped to explore other creative outlets during her time off. This decision reflects her desire to step back from the public eye and focus on her personal life, indicating a shift in her priorities away from the grueling demands of the music industry.
