Adele announces break after ending her Las Vegas residency: ‘I just need a rest’

Adele revealed that she plans to take an extended break from performing after concluding her Las Vegas residency. During her final show in Munich, she opened up about her future, expressing her intention to step back from the stage after wrapping up her residency in November. The singer, known for hits like “Hello,” shared her feelings with fans in a heartfelt TikTok video, acknowledging her growth and comfort as a performer but also recognizing her need for rest.

Adele admitted that performing isn’t always the easiest for her, though she’s undeniably skilled and has thoroughly enjoyed the experience over the past three years, which marks the longest stretch of consistent performances in her career. She stated that after completing the remaining ten shows in Las Vegas, she would be taking a long break from the spotlight.

Reflecting on her time on stage, she told the audience, “I will not see you for an incredibly long time… And I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break.” With deep emotion, she revealed how much these performances have meant to her, vowing to cherish the memories of the last three years forever. Despite the excitement of the final five weeks of her Las Vegas shows, she confessed that she feels the need to rest and recharge, having spent the last seven years focused on rebuilding her life.

Earlier this year, Adele faced health challenges that led to the postponement of several performances in her Las Vegas residency, further underscoring her need for a break.

In a previous interview in February, she had alluded to taking a pause from music and performing, sharing that she had no plans for new music and was craving a significant break to explore other creative pursuits. She expressed her desire to focus on other endeavors outside of music for a while, hinting at her plans for the future.

Adele’s final residency shows are scheduled to run from October 25 to November 23, marking the conclusion of her current live performances before she takes time off to live her life and focus on personal growth. Fans can expect her to return to the stage only after a long period of reflection and recharging.
