Severide, Kidd, and Chief Pascal Are Back! ‘Chicago Fire’ Confirms Big Season 14 Returns

Chicago Fire might be off the air right now, but behind the scenes, things are heating up for the upcoming fourteenth season, especially with confirmation that three key characters are officially returning to Firehouse 51. They are Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), Firefighter Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), and Battalion Chief Dominick “Dom” Pascal (Dermot Mulroney).

Most people might not be shocked to know that these three are coming back, especially given how central they’ve become to recent storylines. Severide and Kidd remain one of the show’s most beloved power couples, and their surprise pregnancy twist in the season 13 finale sets the stage for major developments.

Meanwhile, Chief Pascal, though a newer addition, has quickly made his mark as a strong but steady leader, and his return signals that his role is only growing more important at Firehouse 51. After Severide helped clear Pascal’s name of murder in the season 13 finale, this has only strengthened their bond, and it’ll be interesting to see how their friendship evolves as they face new challenges together in Chicago Fire season 14.

According to Deadline, Kinney and Mayo’s contracts were reported about to expire at the end of the thirteenth season. Meanwhile, Mulroney had previously signed only a one-season deal when he joined the series. Now, they have all signed new contracts to keep appearing on the hit procedural drama. Fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Severide, Kidd, and Chief Pascal will be back, as Chicago Fire gears up for what will certainly be another exciting and thrilling season!

With the announcements of their returns, we’ll likely start hearing of more casting updates soon. We’re talking announcements about who else will be returning, as well as new additions. Although not confirmed, cast members such as David Eigenberg, Christian Stolte, Jocelyn Hudon, and others are expected to return in their respective roles for the new season.

Chicago Fire season 14 is set to premiere on NBC this fall. A new episode will air every Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. CT, followed by a new episode of Chicago PD season 13. But before you see a brand new episode of any of these shows, a new episode of Chicago Med season 11 will air on the same day at 8/7c.
