Many beloved relationships in “Chicago Fire” exist between characters within Firehouse 51 and those outside of it.
However, this list will focus on ranking the romances that blossomed between colleagues within the firehouse.
At the bottom of the list is the brief and forgettable romance between Sylvie Brett and Joe Cruz. Although both are fan favorites, their dynamic was more akin to a brother-sister relationship than a romantic one. Similarly, the fling between Blake Gallo and Gianna Mackey was short-lived, with their connection never deepening beyond physical attraction.
Slightly higher in the ranking is the relationship between Gabby Dawson and Peter Mills. Their romance, which began in season one, was plagued by Gabby’s lingering feelings for Matt Casey. Mills eventually ended things, realizing he was always second in Gabby’s heart. Another short lived, and ultimately ill-fated, romance was between Violet Mikami and Blake Gallo. Their attempts at a non-exclusive relationship were unsuccessful due to Gallo’s jealousy, leading to a breakup that ultimately benefited both characters.
The relationship between Matt Casey and Gabby Dawson occupies the middle ground. Initially a fan-favorite, their romance eventually crumbled under the weight of heartbreak and differing desires. As for Violet Mikami and Sam Carver, their relationship is currently on hold, but their undeniable chemistry and the unresolved feelings hint at a future reconciliation.
In second place is the love story between Matt Casey and Sylvie Brett. Despite initial hesitations due to Gabby’s presence in their lives, their feelings for each other grew, culminating in marriage.
Finally, Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd claim the top spot as the best Firehouse 51 relationship. Their enduring love story, marked by numerous obstacles and unwavering commitment, has solidified their place as a cornerstone of the show. Despite their occasional frustrations, their bond remains strong.
